Maggie Hathaway Golf Course

Overview

A nine-hole par-3 county course in South Los Angeles, opened in 1962 as the Jack Thompson Golf Course and renamed in 1997 for blues singer and civil-rights activist Maggie Hathaway. Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner rebuilt it with a new routing, firm tight-mown turf, sandy waste areas and template-style greens such as a Lion's Mouth bunker and a double-plateau green, reopening in March 2026 with green fees topping out at $9.50.
