Overview
Lake Merced is a private club founded in 1922 on rolling, cypress- and pine-framed terrain just south of San Francisco, with Alister MacKenzie reworking it in 1929 and Robert Muir Graves rerouting most holes after Interstate 280 took land in the 1960s. A 2021 Gil Hanse restoration rebuilt all 18 greens and refreshed the bunkering to recall MacKenzie's style. The club has hosted USGA junior championships and several LPGA Tour events.
